NomadX and Privacy
NomadX is designed to protect your information and to let you choose what you share.
What counts as personal data at NomadX?
At NomadX, we firmly believe in and respect fundamental privacy rights and believe that these fundamental rights should not differ depending on the country or region in which you live.
Personal data means any information relating to you as an identified or identifiable person. You can browse the public content shown by this app without signing in; but once you want to start or edit a meetup, post, request to join, report, or block someone, this app obtains, through āSign in with Appleā, the opaque user identifier that Apple generates for you, and uses it to recognize which records you initiated.
The fields you fill in your Persona, the meetups you initiate, the posts you make under a meetup, the requests you submit, and the reports you file may all constitute personal data under the law; where they go, who can read them and how they are retained are set out in the corresponding sections of this Policy.
This app does not require you to provide an email address, a phone number or an identity document, and it never requests your email address from Apple.
Your Privacy Rights at NomadX
For the personal data whose purposes and means of processing we determine, the business entity responsible for the processing is AXIOM ONE LLC; you can exercise each of the rights listed in this section through support@getnomadx.app. The full mailing address is given in the āContact Usā section of the Terms of Service.
Under the applicable law of your location, you may request to be informed of, to access, correct, copy, transfer, restrict the processing of or delete the personal data we actually process, and where processing is based on consent you may withdraw that consent as the law provides. We will not subject you to the discrimination the law prohibits because you exercise your privacy rights as the law allows; the scope of a request, verification and the statutory exceptions are determined by applicable law.
You can exercise your privacy rights in the following ways:
- Right of access: you can view the meetups you have started or joined, your messages under those meetups, the requests you have sent, and the fields you yourself filled in on your Persona page.
- Right of correction: you can change your name, your social account link and your Country or region on your Persona page at any time, you can also swap that Persona image for another one, and you can also edit the meetup you started; after a change, that entry in the public database updates with your next publish.
- Right to Deletion: on the Persona page you can set the name or those links to blank, or set the Country or region field to āPrivateā, and that field is cleared on the spot. You can also withdraw the requests you have submitted, or delete your account ā deleting your account clears the meetups you initiated, your messages, the requests and rulings you submitted, and your Persona.
- Right to Data Portability: the current version offers no self-service export. You may request to receive, in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, the content you provided to us and that is processed on the basis of your consent or for the performance of a contract with you; please make the request via support@getnomadx.app, and we will provide it in accordance with applicable law within the scope of what you are entitled to obtain.
- Right to withdraw consent: you may at any time turn off this appās location, calendar and notification permissions in your deviceās system settings. Photos carry no standing permission ā each time you actively pick one through the system photo picker, this app receives only the one you picked. Withdrawal does not affect the processing already carried out before withdrawal, nor does it affect our processing on other lawful grounds.
If you wish to erase a single meetup, a single message, or that persona photo separately, please submit the request to us through support@getnomadx.app; once we have verified it in accordance with applicable law, we will handle it within the scope of the processing authority we actually hold.
We will reply as soon as possible after receiving your request.
Personal Data NomadX Collects
All we obtain from Apple are two items: the opaque user identifier used to recognize you, and the name you consent to share on the authorization panel. The name is treated only as the initial value of the name field in your Persona ā if that field already holds a value, the name returned this time does not count, and you can change it at any time. Beyond the name, this app never requests your email address from Apple, and it does not store the identity token or the authorization code used for signing in.
The fields you fill in yourself on the Persona page are: name, social account link, photo, and Country or region. Every one of them can be left blank. We do not ask you to provide your real name, and we do not verify what you fill in. The Country or region field is a country-level self-report you choose yourself; it is not location information, and it is not the same as nationality.
What you publish or send is: the meetup you started (its title, its intent, the link in the More Info field, its category, the start and end times with the flexible-time flag, the headcount cap, the city name, the location anchor with its name and subtitle, a snapshot of the name in the initiator field, and the āspecific location to be confirmedā flag field), your messages below the meetup, the requests you submit, and the reports you file.
Your account identifier, your deviceās push token, and the meetup identifiers and timestamps carried in your report records belong to the category of records used to recognize you, to deliver notifications to this device of yours, and to process reports. This category and the content you fill in and publish yourself above are handled as two separate categories: the purposes differ, the readers differ, and the bases for retention differ too.
Location: this App asks you only for a while-in-use location authorization, used to move the map to where you are now; the area the map displays, together with the city name, determines which meetups you see. When you publish a meetup, the only thing made public is that one anchor ā an identifiable place on the map, or a position fuzzed to a grid granularity of about 150 meters. Your precise coordinates stay on this device of yours alone.
Photos: this appās only source of photos is the one image you actively choose on the Persona page; it does not collect the composition of your albums, the other content in your photo library, or the metadata carried by photos.
Calendar: the only thing this app writes to your calendar is the meetup you have confirmed attending ā the meetup name, the name of its location anchor, and its start and end times.
Notifications: this app sends you two kinds of notifications through Appleās push notification services ā someone has requested to join a meetup you started, and a request you submitted has been decided. To deliver these two kinds of notifications, Apple needs to manage a device push token. Whether notifications are displayed and delivered is affected by the deviceās notification permissions and system settings; you can turn off this appās notifications in the deviceās system settings at any time.
Content you send to us on your own initiative: the emails you send through āGet Supportā inside the app, plus whatever you fill in and attach in those emails. As long as you do not send, nothing leaves this device.
How NomadX Uses Personal Data
In order to provide the features you have requested ā moving the map to your vicinity, listing the meetups in your area, publishing the meetups you initiate and your posts, handling join requests and decisions, writing meetups into your calendar, and delivering to you the two kinds of notices described above ā we process the corresponding data, on the legal basis of the necessity of performing the service between you and this App.
The legal basis for our access to the fields in your Persona, to your location permission, to calendar write access and to your notifications permission is your consent; you may withdraw it at any time, and the consequences of withdrawal are described in the āYour Privacy Rights at NomadXā section above.
To process the reports you submit, respond to requests made under applicable law, and safeguard the secure use of this Service, we process the corresponding records only to the extent necessary to achieve these purposes.
This App makes no automated decisions about you and builds no profiling tags for you: the system does not decide any assertion about you on your behalf, nor does it infer what kind of person you are from that one meetup you have posted.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use personal data for purposes not disclosed in this policy.
How NomadX Shares Personal Data
This app has one public database, hosted by Appleās iCloud service, whose content all users of this app can read. On screen, content is filtered by the area where you are.
The name you fill in your Persona, the photo you pick, the links field, and the Country or region field are written into the public database when you start or edit a meetup, or when you change any field in your Persona; that slice of data can be read by any user in the same region. The photo is used only for the initiatorās face on the map and the detail page, and for no other purpose. The Country or region field appears only when someone opens your Persona, and the app has no entry for finding people by it. Fields you never filled in are not written into the public database at all; the fields you did fill you can clear back to blank on the spot at any time, and that Persona photo on screen can only be swapped for another ā to have it erased, follow the separate deletion route in āYour Privacy Rights at NomadXā above.
Only the meetups you have initiated that can still go ahead are published along with your Persona: anyone who views your page sees, on this screen, the topic and the time of each meetup and can tap through from here to that meetup. The system generates this list automatically from what you yourself publish ā it lists only meetups you initiated that are still current, not ones you have attended, not history, and it shows no counts or statistics; there is no separate switch for it: to make a line stop appearing, simply end that meetup; once a meetup has passed, that line disappears on its own.
The request you submit carries your Persona name, and it is written into the public database. This app displays the entries concerning you only to you and to the person who initiated that meetup; other users cannot see them on their screens; but the line is stored in the public database, and technically it is not only these two parties who can read it.
A person appears only in the very moment they themselves show up: the app offers no feature that lists all users in a directory for anyone to browse one by one, and other people can read you only within the slice they are looking at themselves, from behind the meetups that have already surfaced. Someone who has only filled in a Persona and never published a meetup will not be read out in any field on the screen.
The reports you submit are not public: this App does not display them to any other user in any place. We record the reports you submit only to handle the relevant content and to keep use safe; these records are read only by us internally, are not made public, and are not used to send you push notifications.
Only you can read your block list: it is kept in your own private database, hosted by Appleās iCloud service, and is not written into the public database. The blocked person will not receive any notice.
Outside this app, only these parties obtain your data: Apple (āSign in with Appleā, the App Store, the iCloud and CloudKit databases, and push services), and the email service that receives your message when you take the initiative to write to it. How they process your data in providing their own services is governed by the terms and privacy policies of Apple and of the respective services themselves; we make no commitment on their behalf.
Apart from the cases disclosed above, the content you fill in and publish has no other destination that this app initiates.
Where applicable law requires that data be provided to law-enforcement or other competent authorities, we handle the request within the scope and procedures the law requires, and we notify you where the law permits.
System and On-Device Capabilities
This app requests only four system capabilities from you: location while using the app, calendar write access, photo selection, and notifications. For what each one takes and does, see the section āPersonal Data NomadX Collectsā above.
The location authorization is effective only while this App is in use; this App does not request background location access and does not continue to read your location after you leave this App.
The calendar is write-only: this app does not read your other appointments in your calendar and does not modify existing events.
Photos go through the system picker: this app does not request photo library authorization and holds no standing read access to your photo library ā the picker is opened by you actively each time, and this app receives only the one photo you confirm in it.
After you withdraw any of the permissions above, this app simply loses the corresponding feature; it will not take another route to obtain the same information, and it will not therefore stop providing the parts of the service that are unrelated to that permission.
Zero-Tracking Commitment and Diagnostics
NomadX integrates no third-party behavioral tracking component, and it does not send your usage statistics, crash data or diagnostic data off your device; the app may keep diagnostic records on the device for troubleshooting, and we see them only when you take them out yourself and give them to us.
When you use āGet Supportā in the app, the diagnostic records on this device are placed in an email draft as an attachment; it contains crash and lag reports, plus troubleshooting details such as the app version, the device model and the system version. Before you press Send it sits only in your own draft ā you can see it, and you can delete it before sending; as long as you do not send, nothing leaves this device. The message you send arrives at our support mailbox carrying your own sender address, and how long it and its attachment are kept on our side is decided by the receiving mailboxās settings. This attachment contains none of your Persona content, your posts or your requests, nor your exact location.
How NomadX Protects Personal Data
We take technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal data processed, restrict access to personal data to the personnel and systems needed to perform their duties, and require the personnel concerned to be bound by confidentiality obligations.
Access controls and security measures at the storage and transmission layer are provided by Apple under its own terms, and we make no commitment on Appleās behalf.
If a personal data breach occurs that requires notification to you under the law, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority as required by applicable law, including the reasons the law requires to be stated and the measures already taken or proposed.
Children and Personal Data
NomadX is intended for users who meet the minimum age required by the law of their location and by the platform rules, generally thirteen years of age or above. We do not ask you to submit a date of birth or identity documents, and we do not set up an age-verification process.
This App brings people in the same area together at one public meetup, and the meeting takes place offline. This App does not verify usersā identity, age or intentions, and provides no special arrangements for minors. Guardians may use the deviceās Screen Time and Content & Privacy Restrictions to manage the installation and use of this App on the device.
We do not process usage records for the purpose of creating an age profile. Where the law requires parental or guardian consent, special notice or other requirements for the protection of minorsā personal information, we act in accordance with applicable law; where applicable law imposes stricter requirements on minors, those requirements prevail.
NomadX contains no advertising content aimed at children or adults, and does not build user profiles for advertising purposes.
Transfer of Personal Data Between Countries
The public database of this app and your own private database are both hosted by Appleās iCloud service. In which country or region the data is actually stored, and which Terms of Service apply, depends on the region of your Apple Account and Appleās service arrangements. For users of the iCloud service operated by the local partner in mainland China, the storage and processing of the relevant data are governed by the corresponding terms and privacy statement of that service.
Content you publish publicly will be read by users in other regions; that is an effect inherent to this feature itself. Cross-border storage and transmission are carried out by Appleās infrastructure arrangements, and we make no commitments on its behalf.
Where applicable law requires that information about cross-border transfer safeguards be provided, you may, through the contact channels listed in this Policy, inquire about the legal basis that actually applies, the safeguard arrangements, and how to obtain the relevant texts.
Data Retention
Retention times are stated category by category, one sentence for each.
Local records on this device are kept until you delete them, uninstall this app, or clear the app data on the device.
The copy in your own private database (your blocklist) is retained along with your own iCloud private database; this route has no way back on screen, so it follows your account all the way until you delete your account.
Records you initiate in the public database (meetups, messages, requests and rulings, and your Persona) are kept until you delete them or delete your account. Even after a meetup is cancelled or archived, that record and the messages filed under it remain in the public database until the account is deleted.
Report records you submit are retained for the period required by the processing purpose.
Deleting your account does not clear the report records you have submitted: they are necessary for handling the relevant content and for safeguarding use of the app, and the retention and read scope follows the preceding clause.
The device push token is managed and updated by Apple according to its mechanism; once you turn off notifications for this app in the system settings, that token is no longer used to deliver anything to you.
Support emails and attachments you send on your own initiative are handled for the period needed to answer the request and as legal retention requires.
Periods required to be retained by law, or periods necessary for the handling of disputes, apply in accordance with applicable law.
After you initiate account deletion in this app, we clear the records associated with this account ā including the meetups, posts, requests and rulings you started in the public database, your Persona, your block list in the private database, and the local records on this device. The deletion is carried out through Appleās database and sync mechanism; the time it takes to arrive and to complete is decided by Apple, and we do not confirm on its behalf that it has finished. Copies of public content already read on other usersā devices are not cleared by this deletion.
Deleting your account will not revoke your sign-in authorization on Appleās side on your behalf; this step is provided and managed by Apple, and this app does not store the identity token or the authorization code used for sign-in, so it can neither perform this step for you nor confirm whether you have completed it. If you wish to revoke it, open your Apple Account in the deviceās system settings, find the āSign in with Appleā entry, and stop authorizing this app. Deleting the account alone does not amount to withdrawing the authorization; withdrawing the authorization alone does not make the records on this appās side disappear on their own.
Local Storage Technologies
NomadX uses on-device local storage technologies to implement its core features.
This app writes the following on this device: the session state after sign-in and the on-device directory that belongs to you, the marker recording which version of the Community Guidelines you agreed to, and the local cache of your block list; the public content you read within the app leaves cached copies on the device left by the system and by CloudKit.
These local contents and caches are removed when you delete this app in System Settings or when the system cleans up the deviceās local storage; cached copies may be cleaned up by the system when storage space runs low, and reopening this app reads them again.
Whether the deviceās system backup includes this Appās data, and how long older copies are kept, is determined by the settings of your device and by the backup rules that apply from Apple. Deleting content inside the app or on the device is not the same as clearing the system backup copies you already had before that.
Our Companywide Commitment to Your Privacy
To ensure the security of your personal data, we communicate privacy and security guidelines to all our staff, and we strictly enforce privacy protection measures within the company.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and we will publish the updated version, with its update date, inside the app. Where a change to our data processing may substantially affect your rights, the full revised text together with its āLast updatedā label will be shown on this page with the app update. If applicable law requires that your consent be obtained again, we will obtain that valid consent before carrying out the processing concerned; your continued use of this app is not itself a substitute for it.

If you have any questions about exercising your privacy rights, please contact us at support@getnomadx.app. Additionally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority.
